Meet Audrey!!

Audrey is a very creative buddie.  She is very much an artist.  She has a very calm, spiritual personality.  She is good at helping others when they are feeling low.  She can always make you smile.  Audrey loves ice cream and frozen yogurt, and her favorite flavor is strawberry.  Her favorite season is spring because she loves to see the flowers bloom.

Meet Anthony!

 

Anthony is very good at finding things. He is a real prankster and likes to hide things on people. He is very charismatic and is a good public speaker. Anthony likes to eat ice cream straight out of the carton. He loves to travel and is awesome at getting an amazing amount to fit into one suitcase.

Meet Cathy!

Cathy loves to paint. Her favorite place to go is the library because she loves to read. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Cathy loves carrot cake. She enjoys stand-up comedy and her favorite comedians are Brian Regan and Bill Cosby. She tries to tell her own jokes but...well...they're just not very funny. But she's great at giving hugs!

Meet Jacapo

Jacopo wants to be a lawyer when he grows up. He is very generous and can be easily persuaded with an ice cream. Jacopo speaks Italian fluently. He is very creative and likes to write poems. He is a bit of a thrill seeker at times and would very much like to try sky diving. Don't trust him around power tools....

Meet Charlie!

Charlie is a very brave individual. She is a good singer but is terrible at dancing. Her favorite food is apples. Charlie likes to tell jokes and make people laugh. She hates the cold. Her favorite drink is black cherry Propel (she's hooked on it). Charlie also has a real knack for making balloon animals.

Meet Hope!

She loves to swim on warm summer days. She even likes the washing machine (cold water, lots of bubbles, gentle cycle, and tumble dry please). She is a great listener and will keep all your secrets too. She loves movies and never minds watching the same one over and over again. Hope is always hopeful to bring a smile to your face!

Meet Sarah!

Sarah loves to laugh. She loves to dance and is pretty awesome with hula-hoops. One of Sarah's favorite activities to do in the summer is going camping. She loves to travel and collects paraphernalia from wherever she goes. Sarah is very trusting  and loves to give hugs.

Meet Colby!

Colby is a typical boy.  He spends his days playing video games, sports, and hanging out with his buddies.  His favorite sports are baseball and football.  He loves the movies "The Goonies" and "The Sandlot".  He loves his Nintendo Wii system.  He and his buddies like to play in their fort, climb trees, and ride bicycles.  His favorite color is dark green.  Colby may seem rough and tumble, but on the inside he is very caring.  Once he gets to know someone he is fiercely loyal.

Meet Julie!

Julie wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She loves helping others and is very good at memorizing things. Julie is also a very fast runner and likes to run in marathons. Her favorite activity is coloring in jumbo coloring books. She tends to hum when she colors. Julie is afraid of the dark and in order to fall asleep she counts sheep.

Meet Ashley!

Ashley loves to cook. She likes to watch cooking shows on TV and try to copy the recipes. She will cook pretty much anything. Ashley is very brave and protective of her friends. She is very loving and is a very good listener. She likes to have fun doing silly things and is not easily embarrassed in public. Ashley is very good at being herself. She tends to rub off on others and bring out the best in everybody.

Meet Justina!

Justina is very brave and takes lots of risks. She is very energetic and has a great imagination. Her favorite movie is Despicable Me and she identifies most with Agnes because she loves unicorns, too. Justina sings in the shower all the time and doesn't really care who hears her. Sometimes, when Justina gets scared, she will sing to herself to help her stay brave. She loves to tell jokes, however they often aren't that funny. It might be a good idea to get her a joke book. Justina loves to give hugs and is a very good listener.

Meet Charlotte

Charlotte has an outgoing, bubbly personality. She speaks French fluently and likes listening to French music. Charlotte is not easily persuaded and will always stands up for what she believes is right. She is very courageous. (Except when it comes to snakes. She's not very courageous around snakes. They scare her.) Charlotte loves to read and her favorite author is Janet Evanovich.

Meet Rosemarie!!

Rosemarie LOVES flowers.  Especially roses.  Her favorite season is spring and during that time you can usually find her in the garden tending to her huge flower garden.  She is also a great baker, and loves to make goodies.  Rosemarie is super outgoing and loves to talk.  She will talk your ear off if you let her!  She is a super sweet buddie, but she hates conflict.  Rosemarie's favorite movie is Steel Magnolias.  She loves hugs and loves to cuddle.

Meet Robert

Robert is very cheery and loves to sing and dance. He also likes to write a lot. His favorite bird is the cardinal because it stands out from all the others. Robert is very helpful and smart. He is willing to try new things and loves to meet new people.

Help!--A call to all knitters (and crocheters)

Apparently our advertising department (which doesn't even exist) has been a little too effective--we have over 350 people on our waiting list! People are hearing about it from websites, newsletters, friends, Facebook, even counselors and treatment centers! We are only three knitters, and we're not always able to crank them out as fast as we would like...not all of us knit at the same speed, sometimes life happens and something gets in the way, etc. So this is a call out to all you capable knitters and crocheters (is that a word?) who have a little extra time on your hands and would like to help us out by knitting a buddie or two...or more! :)  There is a link on our blog (it's http://recoverybuddies.blogspot.com/2008/10/those-interested-in-knitting-buddies.html for those of you who want to jump right to it!) for anyone who wants to help make a buddie. Meet Damian!

Damian is cheery and very generous. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up. Damian likes to sing really loud and tries to get others to sing with him. He can be extremely silly, but Damian knows when to be serious and is a very good listener and gives really good hugs. He is a very loyal friend and you can always count on him!
