This is Alex. He has a cape, and I have been having plenty of fun playing with him. He likes flying, wearing pink, and eating sweet rice pudding. His superpower is something I like to call Chocovision. He can turn anything into chocolate just by looking at it. He has been trying to turn my roommate into chocolate all night.

This is Veronica. Veronica likes to read. Her favorite author is Maggie Shayne. She also likes the Twilight series. Her favorite color is brown.

Those interested in knitting buddies for us:

To everyone who is knitting recovery buddies for us, thanks bunches. There are a few questions I'd like to address a few common questions we have gotten pertaining to donation buddies.

Do they have to be knitted?
No, they do not have to be knitted, however they do need to be made out of yarn. So they can be crocheted or woven.

I have noticed all of the knitted buddies are in stockinette stitch, do they have to be?

No, they do not! We tend to make them that way because it seems to be quickest, but if you would like to use another knit or crochet stitch pattern, that is OK too :).

Do I have to follow the pattern?
No, as long the donation buddies are a square with four limbs we can use them. However, please try not to make them much smaller than 8"x8"...they need to be big enough to cuddle. :)

Do you have a crochet pattern?

Not yet, Bethany doesn’t know how to write one! If you’d like to write one for us, we’d be thankful (and we’d be sure to credit you if you would like).

Can I add a hair bow, or buttons for eyes, or that sort of thing?
Yes you can. Feel free to embellish them and make them unique! Look around the blog and the photos on our facebook page for ideas on how they have been embellished before.

Can I give the buddie a name and story?
Yes! While it not required, we would love for you to name the buddie and give him or her a story.

Can I send along a note for the recipient?
We also love when you send along a note for the recipient, we'll be sure to pass these along! We want to make the recipient feel loved and a special note from you would be a great way to add to that :).

If you request a buddie and have a severe pet/smoke allergy and worry that a buddy made around dogs or cats would set off your allergies, let us know. We can work with you.

There would be big things happening for Recovery Buddies, and while we are not going to spill the beans about it, we want everyone to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We will you keep you updated.

Jimmy.

So basically I sent Jimmy out into the world without taking a picture of him first...And Allisons' camera is missing right now, so I'm just going to write his bio.

Jimmy loves molasses spice cookies. He'd eat them all day if he could. He also enjoys texting, he can even text with his toes. Man I wish I could do that. He loves all fruits and vegetables, especially broccoli. Jimmy is an art geek, math and science make him run away.
